Executive Administrative Assistant to Executive Principal

I am a Colorado Springs Native and am married to my high school sweetheart, Gabriel – also a Native.  We have two adult children and two grandchildren.  Nature, quilting, gardening, spending time with family and adventuring/traveling bring me much joy.  Serving in the capacity of ‘Admin’ is my true passion and expertise – I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the RMCA Team and community.

 

Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Principals

I moved to Colorado Springs in 2018 and worked in District 20 for three years. I found my home here at RMCA in the fall of 2021. I have a daughter and two grandchildren who live here in Colorado Springs. I enjoy being at home with my amazing husband, goofy emotional support dog, Ginger, and three cats. I also enjoy the outdoors, reading, and lots of crafting.

My family has been a part of the RMCA community since 2017 and we love it here! I enjoy reading, hiking, fishing, hunting, and doing anything fun and active.

I am originally from Tampa, Florida and have been assigned to Peterson Space Force Base with my husband of 14 years and our two children. Our son is twelve and our daughter is five – Both attend RMCA and enjoy every minute of being a Knight, as do I! I graduated from Auburn University with my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in education. My family and I absolutely love Colorado and hope to retire here as our permanent home in a few years to begin our next adventure as a family! 

 

Registrar

This is my 5th year at RMCA. I graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and worked as a science teacher in Dallas before moving to Colorado Springs in 2018. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading and traveling domestically and internationally.

I have lived in Colorado Springs most of my life and have been part of the RMCA community for 7 years as a parent. My entire professional career has been in hospitality management and event planning, primarily in the wedding industry. I am so excited to bring my unique skill set to this community that has meant so much to my family over the years. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for nearly 18 years and we have 3 amazing boys who have all attended RMCA since Kindergarten. During my free time I love to plot my next vacation, enjoy all the outdoor activities CO has to offer and am likely listening to Taylor Swift. I'm excited to be here! 

 

   

Facilities Director

John Ballew, is a Project Manager that brings his many years designing, estimating and project managing landscapes to Rocky Mountain Classical Academy.

As the Facilities Director he aims to maintain the building and grounds environment which enhances the ability for staff and students to work and learn.

 

IT Administrator

This is my 9th Year with RMCA. With a background in Elementary Education, I got into Tech Support over 15 years ago...and now I support Technology needs in Education. I love supporting the Teachers, and being an integral part of the education of so many students. I now Coach on the Varsity Football team at Sand Creek High School. I was the Head Coach for RMCA Football for 4 years, and finished with a 17-3 record over my last 3 seasons including winning the Central Colorado Athletic League Championship following an undefeated season in 2021. I'm happily married to the kindest person on Earth, and have been blessed with 2 sons who have attended RMCA.

I have been in Colorado for 6 years, 5 of which have been at RMCA. With a background in law enforcement and a love for the kids, I found my pathway to this position as the School Security Officer. I enjoy going to the range, sunning on the Beach, riding my Harley-Davidson Softail Motorcycle, watching Alabama Football, and spending time with my Family & Frenchie Fancy.

My name is Tammie Chasteen, and I am your School nurse for Rocky Mountain Classical Academy.   I am a wife, mother and grandmother.  I have done pediatrics and school nursing for most of my nursing career. I am retired but continue to do nursing because I enjoy the medical field.  I do medical mission work in Africa and love hiking.
