Team Lead
Hello RMCA families and friends. I am so honored to be starting out my first full year teaching at RMCA! I was fortunate enough to join the 4th grade team mid-year last year and like many of you I completely fell in love with our school culture. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. My husband and I have been married for seven years and we have two adventurous and wonderful boys who both attend RMCA. We spend most of our time together as a family relaxing in the sanctuary we call home or enjoying our beautiful state. We are also beyond lucky that some of my family has joined us from Minnesota! I look forward to helping your child learn not just the curriculum but in helping you shape them into individuals with positive values and character traits. I believe in a strong partnership between parents and teachers and together we can help our children grow and succeed in school and in life. I look forward to meeting you!

Hi all! My name is Madelyn Shasteen, and I am so thrilled to be a part of the 4th grade team and RMCA community! I am originally from Ohio but recently moved to Colorado Springs, and have been loving every minute of it! I graduated from John Brown University in Arkansas where I ran cross country and track. In my free time, I love doing any and all things outdoors, playing pickleball, rollerblading, hiking, camping, and spending time with my friends and family. I am so excited and honored to invest in, love on, and equip each and every student to be all that they were created to be!

I am originally from Spokane Washington and my incredible journey with the Air Force brought me here to Colorado where I finally call home. I have two beautiful children who are my whole world. We spend our time enjoying each other out in nature. This is my 5th year teaching and look forward to continuing to partner with the community in teaching. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to teach your children and love seeing your students succeed and reach their full potential. Watching children grow and enjoy learning is super important to me. I am beyond excited to meet you and your students.
