Student 2 Student

winning

Dear Rock Mountain Classical Academy (elementary) S2S team,

On behalf of the MCEC® Board of Directors and our President and CEO, Dr. Becky Porter, it’s my honor to congratulate RMCA Elementary on your selection as a finalist for the 2021 MCEC Student 2 Student® Team of the Year competition.

MCEC has trained more than 700 S2S™ programs across the U.S. and Europe, so making the list of finalists places your S2S program in an exclusive category. MCEC is hopeful this recognition will inspire your students and sponsors to set even higher goals and build on your successes as you work to positively impact others at your school, across the district, and throughout your local community.

Thank you, and once again, congratulations. The MCEC global mission of supporting all military-connected children through educating, advocating, and collaborating to resolve education challenges associated with the military lifestyle, is strengthened every day by S2S programs like yours. We look forward to seeing what the 2021-2022 school year has in store for you and the RMCA Elementary S2S program.

With deep appreciation and gratitude,

Rocky Mountain Classical Academy is a K-8 Charter school in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our vision is to "Create culturally literate citizens who will impact their world for life, liberty, and justice." In addition to this vision, our goal as an S2S program is to encourage students to model S2S core values, with a specific focus on 100% acceptance. Here at Rocky Mountain Classical Academy, we pride ourselves on having active eS2S and JS2S programs, with a total of around 80 students and 5 sponsors. Both of our programs support the school, partner with families, and serve our community. Some ways we do this are through supporting military families, providing backpacks full of staple foods and hygiene products to students and community families in need, and participating in service drives. Our heart is to mold our students into empathetic, skilled leaders that will one day guide our country.

MCEC student programs Tracy Brown talks with JS2S Ava about her recent trip to D.C. escorting a veteran with the Honor Flight Network and the impact of our MCEC student programs and trainings for both herself and her community.
