Week of 2/6-2/10
Reading Plus Program! Incentive program will start this week. The program was outlined in a letter that went home last week.
Students can do up to 2 sessions per day, 7 days per week. The minimum for a passing grade is 4 sessions per week. Earn prizes for working ahead! All necessary work can be completed during class time, but this program can also be done at home:

ReadingPlus Incentive Program
- Number of sessions required to complete per week is four at 70% or more. (Hint: use your reread button for help).
- If the number of sessions required are completed by the end of the week, the student will participate in the end of the week reward “party.”
- The students who have not completed the number of required sessions will continue to work on the Reading Plus Program during this reward time.
- Students will be able to access Reading Plus for two 30-45 minute sessions seven days per week. (IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TIME TO FINISH A 30-45 MINUTE SESSION – DO NOT START IT!)
- A student can access Reading Plus from any computer with internet access.
- The enclosed letter has login help in order to gain access away from school.
- Individual rewards will be given to students who have “leveled-up” two or more levels.
- Students will be entered in prize drawings and can earn tickets for completing extra sessions with a comprehension score of 70% or more.
- Tickets can be used to buy prizes from the Reading Plus Store.
- Please give us your ideas on prizes that you would like to work for.
- Spontaneous tickets will be awarded to students for excellent behavior, great attitude, and overall awesomeness!
How to Earn and Spend Tickets
- Be logged in and working by 12:40 for 6th period and 1:30 for 7th period to earn tickets.
- When finished, clean-up, log off, turn in folder, and quietly read or work on homework without being told to earn tickets.
- Extra sessions with 70% or better will earn tickets.
- Maintaining 90-100% on comprehension levels will earn tickets.
- Keeping your Reading Plus Log up to date will earn tickets.
- Using the reread feature will earn tickets.
- Bathroom and water breaks cost one ticket per visit.
- Disturbing others, being disrespectful to others, or continual off task behavior will cost you two tickets.
Week of 1/30-2/3
Start Reading Plus program -- letters going home this week to tell more about the program. Students take a placement test and then begin working at their level.
