Overview

Our fourth-grade team is a dedicated group of educators committed to inspiring a love of learning and supporting the growth of every student. We emphasize creating an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment, providing personalized instruction that helps students excel both academically and socially. Through hands-on activities, collaborative projects, and creative teaching methods, we foster critical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills. Collaboration and creativity are at the heart of our approach, ensuring that every fourth grader has a memorable and meaningful learning experience.

  • Language Arts: Writing, Grammar and Usage, Speeches

  • World History and Geography: Europe in the Middle Ages, The Spread of Islam and the Holy Wars, Early African Kingdoms, China: Dynasties and Conquerors

  • American History: The American Revolution, The Constitution of the United States, Early Presidents and Politics

  • Mathematics: Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations in Base Ten, Number and Operations in Fractions, Measurement and Data, Geometry

  • Science: Energy Transfer and Transformation, Investigating Waves, Structures and Functions of Living Things, Processes That Shape Earth, Using Natural Resources for Energy, The Human Body

The Core Knowledge Sequence is a detailed outline of specific content and skills to be taught in language arts, history, geography, mathematics, science, and the fine arts. As the core of a school’s curriculum, it is intended to provide a coherent, content specific foundation of learning, while allowing flexibility to meet local needs.

Instructional Coach (4th-8th)

Crystal Bubick
Hi! I am Crystal Bubick, honored to be one of the Instructional Coaches here at RMCA. Not only am I blessed with a beautiful family, a wonderful husband, and daughters who inspire me every day, but I also have the privilege of working with some amazing students and dedicated educators. I am so grateful for our RMCA community. Go Knights! I have three degrees from the University of Denver and have been in education for almost two decades. Colorado is my home. The mountains are my backyard. When I am not at RMCA, you will find me exploring the Rocky Mountains, taking in the symphony of the beautiful Colorado skies, adventuring with my tribe, and chasing sunshine and water.

Jennifer Cuna
Hello my name is Jennifer Cuna. This is my second year working as a Teacher Assistant, and I truly enjoy being part of the RMCA family . I’m a Colorado native and would never leave this beautiful place. Ive been married to my amazing husband for 14 years. I am a proud mom of three. My oldest daughter will be graduating in May with her nursing degree, my middle daughter is in college pursuing a teaching degree, and my youngest son is in eighth grade here at RMCA. When I’m not running my own business or working at the school, I love spending time with my husband and kids. Especially nights and weekends at a baseball field with my son. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, reading, and of course, coffee!!

Assistant Principal (4th-8th)

Tanner Humphrey
Hello, my name is Tanner Humphrey, and I am the Assistant Principal over 4th-8th grade classes. This will be my 9th year at RMCA, and I have been everything from a PE teacher, Athletic Director, Dean of Students, to my current role now as Assistant Principal. This is my second year as an Assistant Principal, but my first year overseeing the Middle School. My Wife and I met in college and have been married for 8 years. We have two boys whom we love and adore so much. My oldest is named Hayes, who is 3 yrs old, and the youngest is named Hank, who was born in May of 2025. I get to bring both boys to work with me every day as they attend the RMCA daycare, and I am beyond blessed for this opportunity. I love RMCA and all of the students and families within it. Dean of Students (K-4th)

Kayla Lewis
Hello! My name is Kayla Lewis and I am so excited to be serving as the K-4 Dean of Students at RMCA. I am a proud Air Force wife and mom to a knight in training. I have an undergraduate degree in Special Education from Clemson University, and a Master’s in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis from UNLV. My professional experience includes many years as a special education teacher in a variety of settings, a behavior specialist and special education facilitator. Outside of school I love hiking, baking cakes, cheering for Clemson football and traveling.

Serena Manigold
Hello! I’m Ms. Serena Manigold, and this is my 6th year teaching. For the past three years, I taught 1st grade at RMCA. I’m thrilled to begin a new adventure in an upper grade! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My six kiddos (ages 1, 7, 9, 10, 11, & 13) keep me super busy! I also love reading, eating, dancing, traveling, and all things related to health & wellness. 4th grade is going to be awesome!

Sam Olson
Hello! I am Sam Olson, and this is my first year at RMCA! I am so excited to get the opportunity to teach and work alongside our fourth graders. I am originally from Fargo, North Dakota. I went to college at The University of Minnesota - Morris. Outside the classroom, I enjoy fishing, watching sports, being outside, spending time with friends and family, and coaching football! I am so excited for what this year will hold!

Grace Rempe
My name is Grace Rempe and this is my second year at RMCA. I love my job because I have seen how confidence-boosting and impactful education is in shaping how people view themselves and the world around them. It is my desire to teach my students not only what they need to know, but also to help them understand what they are capable of. I want students to know they are inherently valuable and loved. In my free time you might find me out for a run, reading somewhere outside, playing cards at a coffee shop, or training for a bike-packing trip a friend and I are planning (any tips welcome). I am originally from Iowa where my parents and younger brothers still call home.

Lisa Robbins
Hi, my name is Lisa Robbins. I’m starting my 5th year working at RMCA. I’ve lived in Colorado for 25 years. I was raised in Iowa, but later moved to Colorado to attend Fort Lewis College in Durango. I’ve been married to my amazing husband, Justin, for 19 years. Our two sons attend RMCA. Our oldest son is starting middle school and our youngest son is entering 5th grade. In my free time I enjoy having lunch with friends, reading, and watching my sons play baseball.

Amanda Roberson
I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade this year! I earned my B.A. in Social Science and Education and have experience teaching a variety of elementary grades. I love building a classroom community where every student feels encouraged, supported, and inspired to learn. One of my favorite things about teaching 4th grade is watching students grow in their independence and confidence. Outside of school, I enjoy music, gardening, traveling, and spending time with my family.

Madison Shrum
Hello! My name is Madison Shrum, and this is my second year at RMCA. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and am currently in my final semester of graduate school where I am earning my Master’s Degree in School Counseling, both from Adams State University. When I’m not at RMCA or working on my own school work, I love to cook, read, and hike. I’m originally from Southern California, and I moved to Colorado Springs a little over a year ago with my husband, Jarrett, and have loved every minute of it. I’m looking forward to a great school year and the opportunity to support your students!

Kristin Siekmeier
Hi, I’m Kristin Siekmeier, a Colorado native, and this is my 13th year teaching and my eighth year at RMCA. I absolutely love teaching and working with kids. I’m so excited to be teaching fourth grade this year and can’t wait for all the learning and growth ahead. Outside the classroom, I love being in the mountains, spending time with friends and family, and cozying up on the couch with a good book. I’m a lifelong learner myself, and I hope to inspire my students to develop that same love for learning every day in our classroom.
