Kindergarten Team

Rolater  Melissa Rolater, Team Lead

This is my 11th year of teaching here at RMCA.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Northern Colorado in Business Management. I attended the University of Phoenix where I received my Masters’ Degree in Elementary Education.  I am truly blessed to work here at RMCA.  My oldest completed 2nd through 8th grade here and is now starting his senior year at Vista Ridge.  My youngest is now entering 7th grade at RMCA. My husband and I have been married for 20 years.  In addition to kids, we have 4 dogs, 2 cats, fish and two bearded dragons. In my free time, I love to crochet, read, listen to music, and spend time with family and travel.

I teach Kindergarten because I am very passionate about kids having a positive first experience with school and I love to see them start to read.  This is my tenth year teaching because I love seeing kids grow in their love for learning, academics, and in their character.  I've received my professional teaching credential in California, since that's my first home, and I will always love the Dodgers because of it (sorry Rockies fans).  I've taught at a classical school before and I love to see children respond to their learning by reading and writing.  I look forward to seeing growth in my students this year and coming along side this wonderful RMCA team to enhance the learning that takes place at our school.

I was born in Illinois but I have lived in Colorado since I was in mid-kindergarten.  I have a degree in Elementary Education from Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa.  I love elephants, purple, Pepsi, chocolate, crafting, animals, exploring new places, reading, and teaching.  This is my eighth year in education and sixth year teaching kindergarten at RMCA.  I absolutely love it! Kindergarten is so much fun and they grow so much throughout the year!

My name is Anna James and this is my first year here at RMCA! My husband, son and I moved from Wyoming in May and we are so happy to be here in the Springs and to be apart of this wonderful community here at RMCA. When not teaching, I love spending time with my family enjoying the outdoors. I love hiking, running and photography. I am so excited about this year and to be here at RMCA!

This is my 5th year of teaching and being a part of the RMCA family. Early childhood education is my passion and I was a preschool teacher for 8 years before earning my license. I love kindergarten and all the exploring, learning and fun we get to have.

My family is new to the Colorado Springs after my husband retired from the military recently and we love it!  This is my 15th year teaching and my first year diving into Kindergarten.  I also homeschooled my own two children for 4 years.  I love to be outdoors and hike on a regular basis with my two golden retrievers.  I am excited to be at RMCA and be a part of this school family.

I was born and raised ten minutes from Rocky Mountain Classical Academy and received my degree from Colorado Christian University. As a student teacher, I had the privilege of learning from one of the best right here at RMCA in Carol Walker’s classroom. My family and I are die hard Rockies fans, and I love everything Disney related!

This will be my fourth year teaching at this school, and I am eager and excited to dive into to another year of teaching in my favorite grade!
