2nd Grade Team

Hello friends!!! My name is Kayla Lehr-Heggem and I am team lead this year!! This is my forth year teaching at RMCA. I graduated from UCCS in May of 2019 with my Bachelors in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Geography. Prior to working at RMCA, I worked as a pre-school teacher for 3 years at PPCC and UCCS. I am happily married and a mom of three boys, Troy, Shawn, and Addison who I enjoy spending time outside with. I am happy to call RMCA my home away from home!!

Hello! My name is Alysia Padilla and this is my third year at RMCA. I am so excited to begin another amazing year at this school. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with my Bachelors in Elementary Education with an endorsement in ESL. I have lived in Colorado Springs most of my life, and I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. When I am not at school, I love being outdoors, drawing, watching football (Go Broncos!) and spending time with my family. I am also excited to be coaching our middle school cheer team this year! I am looking forward to a great year!

Hello! My name is Lydia Dove, this will be my first year at RMCA as well as my first year of teaching 2nd Grade. I graduated from California University of Pennsylvania this past summer with my Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies, I also hold an Associate's of Applied Science in Outdoor Leadership and Recreation Technology from Pikes Peak Community College. I have been working in the outdoor education and recreation field the last several years, teaching children of all ages and backgrounds in a variety of skills through experiential learning. I am incredibly excited to apply all that have learned throughout my education and work experience to teaching in the classroom!

Hello RMCA community! I am so excited and honored to be joining the RMCA 2nd grade team from Wisconsin. I attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where I got my degree in middle childhood- early adolescence education as well as mathematics. I taught 3rd grade before moving to the Springs with my fiance, Sean. I believe that every student has a right to a great education. I will do everything in my power to encourage students to strive for the knowledge that will help them be successful in life. My educational goal is to help each and every student realize their own personal, social, and academic potential through education. I look forward to meeting and joining this wonderful community here at RMCA. Please stop in and say hello!
