I’m a Colorado Springs native. I absolutely love being outside where I enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, and playing golf. I also love all things health and fitness, cooking, writing, and design. In 2014, I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Education from University of Northern Colorado with a Reading Minor. This will be my 4th year of teaching. My three beautiful children (5, 7, & 9) all attend RMCA. I’m looking forward to an amazing year!
Kayla Loomis
Hello! My name is Kayla Loomis and this is my fifth year as part of the First Grade Team. I was born and raised in Ohio where I attended Ohio Christian University and received my BA in Early Childhood Education. There I met Drew, my husband of 10 years. We have four beautiful children: Josias (7), Theo (4), Clara (3), and Asa (5m). I have several years of experience with the classical approach as well as character education. I have a special passion for teaching reading and am excited to watch my students grow in maturity, character, responsibility and relationships with others. Outside of school I enjoy baking, crafting, spending time outdoors, and spending quality time with my sweet family. I find pure joy in seeing students hit academic milestones and watching them discover that they too can develop a love for learning. I am enjoying being a part of this amazing community here at RMCA!
I am thrilled to join the first grade team at RMCA this year. After moving from Illinois to Colorado a few years ago, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Regis University. This is my seventh year as an elementary teacher. Prior to teaching, I worked in education as a special education paraprofessional. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, three daughters, two sons-in-law, and two granddaughters. They keep me busy! I love living in Colorado and all of the beautiful sights that are so close to home.
