5th Grade Team

Calvert  Hilary Calvert, Team Lead

My name is Hilary Calvert! I’m so excited to get this school year started! I’ve been at RMCA since 2016 and have taught 5th grade every year. Prior to working at RMCA I worked as a 3rd grade para in District 20 and spent a year running a before and after school program for District 49. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English and education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2011. I completed my master’s degree in Library Science in 2015 from Clarion State University of Pennsylvania. I spend a lot of time hanging out with my family. I am the oldest of 5 kids. Two of my siblings are married and I have two sweet nephews. Even though I grew up in Colorado Springs, I was born in Wisconsin. My family and I are HUGE Green Bay Packer fans. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and doing arts and craft projects. A few of my favorite things are coffee, chocolate, and sunflowers. My favorite subjects are literature and history.

My name is Jackie Cirbo and I am so incredibly excited to be a part of the fifth grade team this year! I am entering my eleventh year in teaching and my third year here at Rocky Mountain Classical Academy. I was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and moved to Colorado after my senior year of high school. I went to Colorado State University for my Undergrad and University of Northern Colorado for my Masters in Education. I jumped right into teaching and absolutely loved it.

I have taught 4th and 5th grades at RMCA for the past 6 years. I really love teaching Science and Math! Currently, I'm earning my Masters of Math Curriculum and Instruction from UCCS. Last year I was selected by D-49 for the Master Classroom Project for teaching math strategies. I also attend the D49 Math Leadership Team to help district teachers with teaching strategies for math. As you can see I love teaching math!

My husband and I have 5 children and one grandchild, who is the cutest grandson on the planet!  I love to spend time with my family, holidays, and doing anything outdoors!

My name is Mrs. Kettinger and this is my third year at RMCA. I am thrilled to be one of the ELA and Science teachers for fifth grade students! I am originally from Tampa, Florida where I attended the University of South Florida for my Undergraduate Studies in Biomedical Sciences and Psychology. I then attended the University of Phoenix, Tampa Campus, for my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. My husband is a helicopter pilot in the United States Army Reserves and a civilian Air Traffic Controller here in Colorado Springs. We have two wonderful children, Mackenzie (7) and Jackson (6), who also attend this amazing school. I am beyond excited for what this school year holds and am eager to get to know each child and support them in reaching their goals

This school year is my 5th year of teaching in Colorado and my 3rd at RMCA. My husband and I , along with our dog SKY, moved from Iowa (our home state) to Colorado in 2014. We enjoy all outdoor activities including kayaking, hiking, and for Chris, fishing. I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree. I am also a photographer of sporting events, wildlife, and landscapes.
