Jordan Kent

Hello! My name is Jordan Kent and I am so excited to be teaching for my third year. I am a part of a military family and so thankful to have grown roots here at RMCA. I have been married to my husband for 8 years and am a mother to two beautiful girls who also attend RMCA. Together we love playing sports, hiking, camping, and doing all things outdoors. I believe that all kids are unique and each one of them has something wonderful to offer the world. I cannot wait to be your child's teacher and give them a great school year full of learning and fun!

I graduated Magna cum Laude with a degree in education in 2012. I have previously taught high school chemistry, biology, and anatomy & physiology. 5th grade was my favorite when I was a student and I am overjoyed to be here. My husband and I have lived in Colorado Springs for three years with our five children and three four-legged children. We enjoy hiking, camping, and playing board games as a family.
My teaching philosophy is to first provide a safe and warm environment for my students to be in every day. I want them to feel loved, valued, and empowered to ask questions, make mistakes, and build relationships. Academic rigor paired with a commitment to the character development of our children sets them up for success, and the classical model is a beautifully effective way to achieve these goals. I love the classical model because we get to focus on the character, integrity, and whole person of our students as we prepare them for exciting and successful lives.

Hi! My name is Morgan Jarrell and I am so excited to start my first full year of teaching at RMCA. I was a substitute teacher last year and fell in love with teaching 5th grade! My husband and I have been married for 10 years and we're originally from Virginia. We have been in Colorado Springs for 3 years and absolutely love it here! I have 4 daughters who also attend RMCA. As a family we love to snowboard/ski and take our dogs on hikes! I love a good DIY project and getting creative. I'm so thankful to be a RMCA Knight! I can't wait to provide these 5th grade students the most memorable and valuable learning experience to further their education!

The Air Force brought my family to Colorado Springs when I was 6 weeks old, so I consider myself a true native and I can't imagine calling anywhere else home. I have three beautiful kids with my husband Jackson, with our youngest attending RMCA, and when I'm not sharing my love for learning with my 5th grade classroom, you can find me teaching spin classes, hiking or traveling as often as I can!
I encourage my students to ask questions, take risks and overcome the fear of making mistakes as this is part of the learning process. I love teaching and I really hope that I can invoke the same level of excitement with my students!

Welcome to 5th Grade! I am Mrs. Downs and I am looking forward to being your teacher for this school year. This is my fourth year as an educator, and my first year at RMCA. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 2017 from BYU-Idaho. I have taught Middle School, 3rd Grade, and K-6 STEAM. My husband, Steve, and I have been married for 8 years. We moved to Colorado 4 years ago, and we love it here! We have two daughters and a son. My family and I are excited to be a part of this school! I believe that parents and teachers teaming up to help their students grow as a whole person is what brings success in school. I am excited to get to know you more throughout the year!
