Middle School Team
English Language Arts
Hi! I am Crystal Bubick and I love being a part of the RMCA team. This will be my eleventh year teaching and my third year at RMCA. I have my BA in English Literature and International Studies, a graduate degree in Creative Writing and my MA in Fiction. I believe that my students are not vessels to be filled, but lamps to be lit. When I am not writing or teaching, you will find me living and loving this life by adventuring or doing nothing with my husband and beautiful daughters. It is my privilege to teach your children.
Angela Nelson started her third year at RMCA with this being her twenthieth year of teaching. Angela has a passion for teaching conceptual mathematics and encourages all students to have a growth mindset. She believes that all students can learn ANYTHING! Angela and her husband, Ken, have been married for 27 years. They have been blessed with 3 children: Kenny, a junior at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX, and twins, Conner & Cooper, seniors at Vista Ridge High School. As a resident of northern Wisconsin for most of her childhood, Angela is an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
This will be my third year as the 7th and 8th Grade Science and Leadworthy teacher at RMCA. I am a complete science nerd and I love sharing my love for science with my students. I am also passionate about personal growth and development which is why I pushed to bring Leadworthy to the school. I am also the head of the Student Council at RMCA and I coach wrestling during the spring. Outside of school I am in the mountains as much as possible or traveling to the desert.
Hello! My name is Pam Levicki and this is my 5th year at RMCA. I currently teach all of 6th grade Core Knowledge History, one section of 7th grade Core Knowledge History, and one 8th grade Leadworthy class. I graduated from Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO with a degree in Social Sciences and a minor in History and French. I am originally from Houston, TX, and have lived in Colorado Springs since 2003. I love skiing, hiking, camping, and all the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer. In my free time I love to travel, read, and cook.
Grammar & Composition
Hello! My name is Savannah Montano and I am so excited to be back at RMCA for another year of teaching. I am a wife and mother of three kiddos, with a background in Reading intervention and ESL. I absolutely love investing in the lives of my students and it is my greatest hope to be a positive and caring influence for them. I believe that all students are capable when they have the love and support they need, and that is exactly what they will find in my classroom.
Mrs. Stefanski grew up in Aurora, CO, and has a Bachelor’s of Science in Equine Science from Colorado State University. Her studies included anatomy and physiology for both humans and horses. She spent a fair amount of time at Cave of the Winds as a wild cave trip leader since she was 12. Mrs. Stefanski has been teaching middle school science since 2015 and this is her third year at RMCA.
My name is Mrs. Kettinger and this is my 5th year at RMCA. I am thrilled to be the 6th grade Literature teacher, one of the 7th grade English teachers, and one of the S2S Sponsors. I am originally from Tampa, Florida where I attended the University of South Florida for my Undergraduate Studies in Biomedical Sciences and Psychology. I then attended the University of Phoenix, Tampa Campus, for my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. My husband is a helicopter pilot in the United States Army Reserves and a civilian Air Traffic Controller here in Colorado Springs. We have two wonderful children, Mackenzie (9) and Jackson (8), who also attend this amazing school. I am beyond excited for what this school year holds and am eager to get to know each child and support them in reaching their goals.
Hello all! I moved here from Indiana in late July. I have taught for two years in the high school United States History and AP Psychology classrooms. I love teaching because I believe in the power of personal growth, and there is no better place to encourage growth than in a classroom. I love Colorado so far, as my wife and I enjoy hiking and outdoor adventure. I am excited and honored to be a RMCA Knight!
Rhetoric & Logic
Hello RMCA family! My name is Leah Woodward, and I will be the 6-8 Rhetoric and Logic teacher next year. After growing up in Stillwater, Oklahoma and attending Oklahoma State University, I married my husband, Jack, and taught in Texas for four years. As my fourth year wrapped up, I had my daughter Avery, who is 6 years old and is starting Kindergarten at RMCA. I took a few years to be a stay at home momma and had my second daughter, Becca, who is 2 years old. After living in Texas for 10 years, my husband and I decided to uproot the family and chase our dream of living in the mountains! What a blessing and wild ride it has been! We are absolutely ecstatic to be living in Colorado Springs and have already put down roots after being here for less than a year. I look forward to training up your children, giving them opportunities to think critically, foster a love for writing, investigate various works of literature, and develop skills for testing evidence and arguments. What a joy to be back in the classroom!
Hello fellow mathematicians! I am Hilary Nowak and I am ecstatic to be here at RMCA for my eighth year of teaching middle school math! I am a wife and momma to two girls. I attended Buffalo State College for my undergrad in mathematics and education then attended Niagara University for my master degree in Special Education. My goal is to create a cozy learning environment in which students are excited to learn math (even if they claim to be "not good at math")! I believe that all students are mathematicians and are capable of pushing the limits of their minds when given the right amount of love and support!
