Middle School Team

Team Lead
English Language Arts
Hi! I am Crystal Bubick and I love being a part of the RMCA team. This will be my eleventh year teaching and my third year at RMCA. I have my BA in English Literature and International Studies, a graduate degree in Creative Writing and my MA in Fiction. I believe that my students are not vessels to be filled, but lamps to be lit. When I am not writing or teaching, you will find me living and loving this life by adventuring or doing nothing with my husband and beautiful daughters. It is my privilege to teach your children.

Rhetoric & Logic
Hello RMCA family! My name is Leah Woodward, and I have the honor of teaching Rhetoric & Logic to our 6th-8th graders. After growing up in Stillwater, Oklahoma and attending Oklahoma State University, I married my husband, Jack, and taught in Texas for four years. I have two beautiful daughters who attend RMCA. I look forward to giving your children opportunities to think critically, foster a love for writing, investigate various works of literature, and develop skills for testing evidence and arguments.

Math
Hello fellow mathematicians! I am Hilary Nowak and I am ecstatic to be here at RMCA for my ninth year of teaching middle school math. I am a wife and a momma to two girls and a boy. I attended Buffalo State Colelge for my undergrad in mathematics and edcuation, then attended Niagara University for my master degree in Special Education. My goal is to create a cozy learning environment in which students are excited to learn math (even if they claim to "not be good at math")! I believe that all students are mathematicians and are capable of pushing the limits of their minds when given the right amount of love and support!

ELA
Hi, I’m Catie Knott! I am the new 6th and 7th grade ELA teacher. This is my third year teaching middle school English but my first year at RMCA, and I am so excited to be here! I am a Colorado Springs native and just got married this past June. I love coffee, avocado toast, and I enjoy running (though not very far or fast). I am so excited to join the RMCA community and get to know all of the students!

Science
Hello, my name is Cassidy Jernigan and will be the 6th and 7th grade Science teacher this year. This will be my first year of official teaching and my first year at RMCA. I am very excited to share my passion for science and how it relates to the world around us! I graduated from the University of Mount Olive in December 2019 with a Bachelors or Science in Agriculture Education. I have lived in many states including California, North Dakota, North Carolina, and now Colorado. I find that no matter where you are, you can find some ties to science. I am eager to share the wonderful world of science with you all this school year!

Math
Greetings! I am Christine Ogden and will be teaching exploratory math this year. This will be my first year teaching at RMCA, I am so thrilled to be here! I received my Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry from UCCS. I have a wonderful husband and two amazing children who attend RMCA. As a family we spend a lot of our summers camping and riding atv's. I am excited to see how far we can help your kids go in math this year!
